Upgrade Your Instagram Stories: Unlock Custom Background Colors!
Tired of Instagram’s default background colors making your stories look, well, a little basic? You’re in luck! Customizing your Instagram Story background is super easy, and we’ve got a clever workaround that lets you pick any color you want while keeping your photo front and center.
Here’s how to do it:
The Quick Background Change (with a catch)
This method is fast, but it will cover your entire image. Use it when you want a solid background without a prominent photo.
- Open Instagram and tap your profile picture to create a new story.
- Choose a photo from your gallery. Instagram will automatically pick a background color for you.
- Tap the three dots (More Options) on the top right of your screen.
- Select "Draw."
- Pick a color from the palette at the bottom.
- Hold your finger down on any part of the screen for a few seconds. The entire background will fill with your chosen color, covering your photo in the process.
The Pro Tip: Custom Backgrounds with Your Photo Visible!
This is the workaround you’ve been waiting for! It allows you to set any background color and then place your photo on top of it, making your stories truly unique. This works great for both iPhone and Android users.
- Start a New Story: Open Instagram and tap your profile picture to create a new story.
- Choose Your Photo: Select the picture you want to use from your gallery. (Don’t worry, we’ll hide it temporarily.)
- Change the Background Color:
- Tap the three dots (More Options) on the top right.
- Select "Draw."
- Pick your desired background color from the bottom palette.
- Hold your finger down on the screen for a few seconds. This will fill the entire background with your chosen color, temporarily covering your photo.
- Tap "Done" in the top right corner.
- Add Your Photo Back as a Sticker:
- Tap the smiley face icon (sticker icon) at the top of your screen.
- Scroll down or look for the "Photo" sticker option (it usually looks like a square with a landscape image inside). Tap on it.
- Your gallery will pop up. Re-select your original photo from your gallery.
- Resize and Place: Your photo will now appear as a sticker on top of your custom background! You can resize it, rotate it, and place it anywhere you want on your story.
That’s it! With these two easy methods, you can say goodbye to boring default backgrounds and create Instagram Stories that really pop. Give it a try and make your content stand out!
